2015 NJLFG Fellowship Awarded to Fara Momen, Rutgers Class of 2017

The 2015 recipient of the New Jersey Law Firm Group Fellowship is Fara Momen – a 2L at Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey. Fara’s dedication to public service stems from her childhood experience of her family’s persecution and eventual immigration to the United States, as refugees and political asylees. Throughout her life, and while furthering her education, Fara has been continually inspired to help others as she had been helped. Her prior experiences include a diversity of public interest positions including a government post with the California State Senate, as well as non-profit experience with the International Justice Project. During the summer of 2015, Fara interned with the Office of Dispute Settlement within the Office of the Public Defender of the State of New Jersey. Prior to law school, Fara earned a Master of Arts degree in diplomacy and international relations, as well as a Master of Arts in strategic communications from Seton Hall University. Fara earned her undergraduate degree in political science, with a minor in economics, at San Diego State University.
